What do I need to login to ROS?

 
    ROS requires that you have version 1.5 or later the Java plugin from Sun Microsystems installed. If you already have Java installed, you can verify the version here. The latest version can be downloaded from www.java.com.

I am getting the message 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' when trying to access the login screen. Why is this?

 
    There are a number of reasons why this might be happening. In order to fix the problem you should do the following:

  • Delete Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.To find out how to do this, see How do I delete Temporary Internet Files?.
  • Make sure you are able to access secure websites. To test if this is possible, visit www.ryanair.com and click on the Book Now button. If the page displays, you are able to access secure sites.
  • Check your Java Settings / Browser Settings for compatibility with ROS.
  • If you are on a network, check to make sure that the network is not blocking the ROS site.

When I try to log into ROS, my certificates do not appear and the message, 'Java applet failed to load' is displayed.

 
    To use your digital certificate on ROS you must ensure that:
  1. You have a valid version of the Java plugin from Sun Microsystems installed.
  2. Your internet browser is configured to allow the download of Java applets.
ROS uses Java applets to digitally sign all electronic correspondence. Applets are Java programs that are downloaded onto your computer and that enable you to use your digital certificate. In some circumstances, the download of applets may be blocked by your internet browser or firewalls settings. To verify that your internet browser is capable of downloading applets, check the 'Java (Digital Certificate Users only)' section of the System Requirements page. If you cannot see the Revenue logo as described, your system is blocking applets from being downloaded. For browser configuration instructions please use your browser's Help option.

How do I delete Temporary Internet Files?

 
    For Internet Explorer:
  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. On the General tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files.
  4. You may also want to check the box "Delete all offline content".
  5. Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the temporary internet files.



For Netscape:
  1. Open Netscape Communicator and click on Tools.
  2. Scroll down and click on Preferences in the dropdown menu.
  3. Double-click on Advanced in the Category section to expand it.
  4. Click on the Cache.
  5. On the right hand side, you will see two buttons: Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache.
  6. Click on both buttons to delete all your Temporary Internet Files stored by Netscape.
  7. Then click on the OK button to save your changes and exit the Preferences window.

For Safari:
  1. Open Safari.
  2. On the Safari menu, click Empty Cache.
  3. When asked Are you sure you want to empty the cache?, click Empty.

When I try to login I get an 'Incorrect Password' error. What should I do?

 
    Make sure you are typing the password correctly and ensure that the Caps Lock is not on while doing so. If the error persists, do the following:
  • If you are an Administrator click on the 'Forgot your Password?' link on the Login page.
  • If you are a Subuser contact your Administrator for your password.

How do I set up an Agent-Client link?

 
    You should contact your local tax office to set up Agent-Client links for tax heads. Top of page
   

I have set up an Agent-Client link but it is not showing up in ROS. Why is this?

 
    Please note it takes a minimum of 48 hours for an Agent-Client link to show up in ROS. If 48 hours have passed since the link was set up and it is still not showing in ROS, please contact the ROS Helpdesk. Top of page
